ADF Recruitment is childs play
Sunday 9th April, 2006The ADF has followed the lead by the US Military machine
by releasing it's own defence force version by releasing a flight simulator
for recruitment. Called "ADF:
Aviator", it takes you through Army/Navy/RAAF and it plays
quite well. I downloaded the whole thing (139MBs). It's in much better
taste though than the US military version, where you can go around and
shoot people'n stuff.
So, what's the difference with the ADF ?
The ADF's version is a little more removed from reality and is not so direct in de-sensitising it's young audience from the fact that you are training to kill people, up-close-and-personal. Developed by Visualjazz, it's pretty slick considering it was sponsored by the federal government tax-payer. But in the end it's just a military application, if only the same investment could be done for Medical treatment, or running city-wide transport networks, or some other creative society building pursuit....
