Damn South Africans !
Wednesday 15th March, 2006I have to take my hat off to Sth Africa in the recent ODIOne Day International
by rising to the challenge
set by australia and making a new
world record in the process.
Australia had it sown up. I and alot of other people went to bed secure in the thought that at 4-434 Australia had re-affirmed it's sporting supremacy in the realm of international cricket by also setting a new ODI record. 2 punters made some serious bets to make a quick buck only to wake the next morning to find they have lost the lot, (a combined loss of $36,000), when Sth Afica had also countered and set a new world record in a nail-biter.

Not surprisingly CentreBet was offerring near even odds ($1.01) for Australia to win. So a punter threw down a $20,000 bet which would have earnt him just $200. Sportsbook.com.au was offerring better odds at $1.06 where another punter laid down $16,000 (to make $960). Halfway through the match Centrebet offerred $26 for South Africa to win. I think there would have been breakfast cereal sprayed across the walls at home as those punters learnt of the result that morning. Oooff !
